Break Your Limits continues to have representation at the highest level and we are proud to be associated with the following athletes:
Bill Scanlan
A multiple Ironman finisher with numerous finishes at the World Ironman Chanpionships held annually in Kona, Hawaii. Bill recently placed 8th overall in the Busselton Half Ironman and his future events include the hearlded Ironman France and other events throughout Europe. Bill constantly updates us on his travels abroad, so keep an eye out.
Shao Wu
A multiple World Championship representative. Shao has achieved significant results in the World Triathlon Championships ranging from the Olympic Distance to the Long Course Distance. After an epic 2010 year, he will be reigniting his career at the Perth Marathon come June this year and will finish with Ironman WA later in the year.
Lisa Delaurentis
Who is she, what does she do?
The past: My background would have to be swimming, have completed the last 4 Rotto swims solo – all in a time to the same minute! I’d like to think I was stronger each year haha but I guess the conditions and circumstances make every year so different! Think I’ll stop at 5 though
Have also finished about 5 Busso HIMs and the Calgary HIM last year (favourite race so far!). Then my latest was the Abu Dhabi International Triathlon (LC) this year. Oh and one Busso IM and a couple of Perth Marathons …
The future: Short term race plan? Canada IM in August, Anaconda in November, Rotto in Febuary, English Channel next July. Focus race is firstly Canada, then I’ll just do what I can in terms of tri’s until prob March next year – where it will then be solely swimming for the Channel crossing. Didn’t really plan to swim that so soon – but opportunity has come with a handful of other swimmers! Definitely not looking forward to the cold acclimatisation and giving up the bike and run. So post Channel I’d like to hit the running hard – maybe an overseas marathon, simply to catch up on already my weakness… then back into tri’s 2012!
Long term: My “bucket race list” – Ironman Brazil, Alcatraz Triathlon, Alpe d’Huez triathlon, cycle trip through Italy, NZ Coast to Coast, Kona, Cocos Island Lagoon swim, Kokoda track challenge, an Xterra race, Tri Grandprix Basque Country … open to anything really!
Joe Cleasby
Joe has been involved with the Break Your Limits team for quite a few years now. His goal race has always been the Hawaii Ironman and this year 2010 he qualified by recording a 18-24 age group win in the notoriously hard Ironman Malaysia. He will go to the big island in great shape and fulfil his lifelong dream. He will now be the third athlete from the Break Your Limits crew to race on the Big Island.
Mitch Anderson
By Day Mitch is a professional Triathlete, competing since 2000 and has completed nearly 30 Ironman triathlons, almost all under 9 hours barrier. His fastest Ironman is 8h 12m and has 6 Hawaiian Ironman finishes including an 11 th overall and a 1st at Ironman WA in 2005. He owns the bike course records at Ironman Australia,Western Australia and Japan.
By night Mitch is a medical doctor seen roaming the wards of Melbourne hospitals. He began life as a physio, moved on to exercise physiology before graduating with his third degree as a medical doctor in 2006.
Mitch will be taking the BYL logo around the world and hopefully to hawaii and IMWA this year, plus a training camp.
