The King of the Mountain should be in everyones yearly race calendar. Particulaly if you like being cold, hills and running in wet shoes for an hour. This year was relatively dry with water levels well below the waist (which trust me makes an enormous difference to your race experience). It is actually a great event and one of the more interesting ones in the Perth race calendar.
As Ray was busy pacing me up the last few hills to take any pictures, I have borrowed some from the WAMC site.
Perth Marathon Sweep…

In the tradition of all major aussie sporting events there should be a book opened for the Perth Marathon. A simple sweep has been proposed.
- Predict Ray’s marathon finishing time (to the nearest second eg. 2:55:56) and enter it as a comment to this post.
- Cost is $2 per guess (ie you can have as many entries as you like).
- 50% of all money collected will go to a charity of Ray’s choice.
- Remaining money will go to the person who has the closest finish time prediction. (in the event of a tie the money will be split evenly).
- Finish time is based on WAMC timing.
- Place money in an envelope with your name and leave it at the gym or pass it to me.
- In the event of a DNS, DNF, DQ all money will go to charity.
- Bribery, race fixing ect is possible, but for $2 why would you bother….
