It’s July

One year ago, we sat in earnest glued to the TV to find out who would inevitably be crowned Tour De France champion for 2009. One year later, the Tour rolls round again.

The Tour starts this weekend and for those cycling enthusiasts around us, we can live our dreams through the men that will pedal their way around France. ‘Who will win?’, ‘Who will crash?’, ‘Who will be riding clean?’…. Thankfully the nights wont be as late as the recent world cup matches.

July also effectively marks the start of the new Triathlon season. For those starting to prepare for the Ironman at the end of the year, well, the rest is over and it’s time to start training. Ironman WA is only 4 months away and what better way to start your preparation than riding in the 2C mornings. As part of this Ironman preparation we are again holding a Pre-Ironman Training Camp. This camp will take place in Busselton during the 15-18 October. This year we will be having Mitch Anderson as our guest and ‘live-in’ athlete. He will be joining the group for all sessions so it will be a great opportunity to get up close and personal. We will also be having a ‘live in’ masseuse to get rid of all those creaks in the body. Stay tuned in the next few months though as numbers will be strictly limited!

July also means the first half of the year is over.

We now shift our focus to the next half of the year and if you thought the first half was exciting, the second will be huge. Not only is Ironman on the cards, but the Melbourne Marathon, 100km Dwellingup MTB Classic, City to Surf and a new Australian Duathlon Series. Make sure you get out, start training and get ready to ‘Break Your Limits’!!! All these events will be well and truly represented by the BYL crew and if you need any more info, well this can always be your first stop!
